Signs You Urgently Need Electrical and Plumbing Services

Plumbing and electrical systems are most essential since our basic utilities rely heavily on these.  But among all the components in our home, these two are often the most ignored or overlooked, and the only time they are being attended to is when we have already experienced or suffered the problems.

It would be great if, as homeowners, we try to check up on our pipes and wires from time to time to see if there are any damages or repairs needed, especially since they also undergo wear and tear. When conducting maintenance, try to look for these signs that say you need electrical and plumbing services asap.

1. CORRODED OR DAMAGED WIRES

It is very important to check the fuse box as often as you can.  And if you see corroded or damaged wires you should call a licensed electrician immediately.  You must consider this an emergency situation; singed wires when left unattended may cause issues to your fuse box and lead to fire.

2. FLICKERING LIGHTS AND APPLIANCES

When you often notice that your light flickers, or suddenly gets dim, or if you plugged and turned on an appliance and you experience the same, it could be a serious issue, such as an overloaded circuit and deteriorating wires.  You could lose power in your home or start an electrical fire if ignored.

When you notice very unpleasant odours in your home emanating from toilets and sinks, it’s a sign of a severe problem in your drains.  Severe clogs underneath are most likely the culprit and it could be detrimental to your family’s health.

2. TOILET BACK-UPS WHEN FLUSHING

Gurgling noises are signs of a clogged toilet, which precedes a toilet back-up. It is filthy and dangerous as it exposes your family to raw sewage.  When this happens, call for plumbing services immediately.

3. MAJOR CLOGS

Normally, minor clogs can be fixed with a plunger or drain auger, but when this problem persists, it is an indication of a major clog deep within your drainage system that can only get fixed by a professional plumber.

4. BROKEN WATER HEATER

This is quite technical and if you are not professionally equipped, it could be hazardous to you and your property.  It is best to contact a licensed plumber to fix it immediately.

5. LEAKS

Some leaks are visible and easy to fix with some tools but there are leaks that are hidden in your walls or floors. These might be coming from your pipes and only professionals can fix this problem.
